Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
1926 - 2004

The Jason Program was inspired by the work of Elisabeth Kubler Ross. One of our co-founders read her book "On Death and Dying" and was led to become part of the pediatric hospice care movement. We were fortunate to have honored Elisabeth here in Maine and her words will remain with all of us who were present. She stated very emphatically that "hope does not mean cure" and admonished everyone present to not forget that. The Jason Program will always be grateful for the wisdom imparted by our greatest teacher and will dedicate our work to promoting her special view of hope. She told us in Maine that when she died she would become a butterfly that would at times come and land on our shoulders and pinch us when we needed to be reminded of what is most important in caring for dying children. Thank you Elisabeth, for teaching us and keeping us focused on what is most important in life, hope and unconditional love. -- The Jason Program Staff

Words of Wisdom

Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself and know that everything in this life has a purpose.

There is no need to go to India or anywhere else to find peace. You will find that deep place of silence right in your room, your garden or even your bathtub.
