The children we have met have taught us many great things. They teach in many ways -- words, actions, and art are but a few. We need just to listen and see.  Look into these pictures, not at them, and you will begin to see what matters most in life.

The Tao of Pooh
                      -- Melissa, age 17

In this picture and in her life Missy showed us how to live. She had a complete acceptance of her illness and always opened her arms to others. With her smile, humor, and heart she brought peace to those around her. Like the kite in her drawing, Missy's spirit lives on, still connected to us, still holding our hands.

The Thinker
-- Graham, age 9

We often think that children don't understand medicine. Graham shows us they do. He was an extraordinarily perceptive boy, who knew that people were caring for him and about him. He was an artistic, gentle, kind person, and despite his illness he always shared his love.

Graham's spirit lives as the wise child we all should have in us.
